colour + craft for joyful living

Thoughtfully made, chosen with care

Inspired by Canterbury's history of craft and trade, we champion a curated selection of local, British and international makers - picked for their character and quality.

Discover new favourites and established brands who share our outlook, blending usefulness with colour, creativity and considered design.

No. 9 The Borough

We're located in a sensitively restored Grade II listed space on The Borough, a historic thoroughfare that's been home to the city's merchants and shopkeepers for centuries.

No 9 itself has been home to a whole host of businesses over the past 150+ years from jewellers and clockmakers to stationers, tobacconists and even a butchers shop.

Traditional values, contemporary design

Canterbury, with its historic Cathedral, has been a centre of artistry and craftsmanship for centuries - from metalworking, goldsmithing and masonry to ceramics, basket-making and weaving.

We celebrate these traditional skills and materials through colourful, considered pieces, made to be enjoyed, cherished, repaired and shared.

Thoughtful Choices

Our suppliers and artisans are handpicked for their respectful approach and mindful use of natural resources. Sustainability, enduring quality and longevity are key.

Relationships have been established and nurtured over many years, product runs are small and intentional, and makers are fairly rewarded and recognised for skills often perfected over generations.

Brightening life with colour + craft

We value local collaboration and conversation, and we're proud to be part of a high street residents and visitors alike can enjoy.

Welcome to Craeft, a warm space in the heart of Canterbury's independent shopping quarter. Come and say hello.
